Mark Carter Productions

Guitarist Mark Carter, who has been a side man in the Los Angeles area, has his first release out called “It’s About Time”.  For a first release, he has a winner here.  Carter uses a style that is a mix of Peter White, Wes Montgomery and Chet Atkins that still gives him a sound all his own.  Working with people as diverse as Dave Koz, Eric Marienthal, Al Jarreau, The Coasters, The Drifters, Englebert Humperdink and Roger Williams, Carter has a style that picks out the best for the material he uses.

He has a couple of covers, “I Just Wanna Stop” and “Could It Be I’m Falling in Love”, but the original material stands out the best in “It’s About Time”.  Carter is very funky on “Cats on the Beach” and “Green is Beautiful”, bluesy on “West on Sunset” and reflective on “Move a Little Closer”.  Carter wrote eight of the eleven tracks and his knowledge of how to sell a song shows through.

Mark Carter has been behind the scenes in the Southern California area for a long time.  It is now his time to shine and “It’s About Time” is the way to break through the clutter and show what he has.  And he has a lot to offer.
