Guitar Geekin 101

I love all kinds of guitar playing
and all kinds of guitar players.
I was recently reading a interview with
Brian Setzer of the Stary Cats fame.
When he was growing up he said his family
could not afford lunch money and his mom packed his lunch.
But they found $5 a week for guitar lessons !
The power of music.

I often think about my first lessons from my
grandfather who was a guitar teacher in Tulsa Ok.
We never know where the road leads in this life.
Truth is, I’m still enjoying the view and the people
I meet along the way. I hope you are too..

Man, this year is flying by,
and work is a keepin’ me busy.
But I had some time the past few weeks to
spend with my grown children and their families.
Always good to find that kind of time,
as I watch my family grow.

Musical Influences…..
The great Wes Montgomery
was born March 6 1923.
A huge part of my life and music.
I think about him every year at this time.
I was 13 years old when an older brother
gave me a copy of his LP  “Tequila”
………Life changing.
A Jazz Guitar Masterpiece !
Check it out sometime, it’s worth the drive.
