Sooooooo it’s Story Time …

I’m a long time Tom Scott fan !

I saw him back in the 70’s at Cal State Fullerton

I bought his LA Express records and dug his playing.

Check out his name in Wiki.

Back in 2008 he saluted the great Cannonball Adderley

The same year I got a call to take my band

and play my music at a private party in Bel Air CA.

It was some party !! When the live Llamas arrived for

the kids petting zoo,…well, you get the picture.

So the band plays a set and we take a break

and I put on Tom Scott’s new release for break music.

I walk over to the bar and who is standing there

Tom Scott ! We talked and later the host asked me if

Tom could play a couple of tunes….

We were honored…What a treat for everyone !!

I just saw Tom again this past weekend at a Jazz Club

He’s still burnin’ it up…….Great Scott !!

I just had a nice vacation visitng my son and his family. All doing well, working,happy and healthy !      We got in some time at the Go Kart Track, Bumper Cars,the new Mario movie, some exciting hands of Uno and enjoyed a square donut.All this and a trip to the annual Rat Fink Festival …Good times !

Spring Break !

My best friend from Jr. High, the guy I learned to play guitar with has retired from his career in furniture repair. John just bought a home in Tuscon AZ so off I went to celebrate his new season in life. We enjoyed a Folk Music Festival, Old Tuscon Movie Set, the Musical Insrument Museum in Phoenix and a visiti with my sister…and way too much good food …Five days of fun !!

Now back to the other fun in my life…

March 6 1923 is the birhdate of Jazz Guitarist

Wes Montgomery. Such a huge influence in my

musical life, which has ran in my blood since I heard

the classic LP from Wes “Tequila” in high school.

That influence moved me to write and record a tune on

my first CD called “Groovin Out Wes”

Twenty years later Grammy winning producer and guitarist

Paul Brown heard it and used it with Grammy winning legend

Larry Carlton and it became”Miles and Miles To Go”.

Making yours truly a Billboard Charting Composer.

All this sweetness in my life because an older brother

brought some new music into our home.

Thanks brother Bill !

After playing so many different and diverse gigs in my career 
I started writing and recording music to feature my guitar playing in 1999.
This band was assembled to perform that music !  
We usually mix in a few classic Jazz tunes and
I'm excited to get the guys back together.
It's gonna be a really fun night in the city
we moved to after coming to California.

December was truly a blur for me but 

happy to be easing into a new year.

The 50th Anniversary Tour...

(I need a breath here)

I graduated high school in 1973.

By the fall of that year I was playing music

and paying my bills as a working musician.

I will be sharing more stories with you and 

invite you to share yours with me.

So many of you have been with me a long long time.

What a journey its been !!



This year I will release my 4th CD

Some good friends helping out in the

recording of new music and I'm getting excited.

Hopefully by summer  there will be 

some cool tunes in your home !!



I'm still teaching live in West Covina

and on Zoom. Just in case someone you

know got a new guitar for Christmas
